Stuffed Chocolate Shells
<<
'Stuffed Chocolate Shells' - an easy dessert recipe that is adaptable to the ingredients you have on hand. The shells can be made as a dairy or pareve dessert, even during Passover.
Ingredients for 8 Stuffed Chocolate Shells:
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup butter or pareve margarine
Melt chocolate and butter/margarine in a small saucepan on low heat, stirring as the ingredients melt.
The process will take about 5 minutes - keep stirring to avoid burning. If desired, melt the chocolate
using the microwave or a double boiler.
Place 8 paper liners in regular sized muffin cups. Using a tablespoon or pastry brush, spread melted chocolate
on bottom and up the sides of each muffin cup liner - be generous.
Refrigerate
for one hour until chocolate becomes firm. Remove from fridge and let shells stand for a minute or two. Remove
paper liners from bottom of shells very carefully. You may store the shells in the muffin tin
or an airtight container in the refrigerator until you are ready to fill them.
Suggested Fillings:
- Ice cream mixed with chocolate bar pieces, oreo or skor bits
- sorbet and fresh fruit
- small package of cream cheese (8 oz.)(or tofutti cream cheese, for pareve dessert) beaten together with 1/4 cup chocolate, caramel or strawberry sauce
- Easy Mousse
Garnish with fresh fruit, small candies, bit of mint or whatever you like.
(during Passover, adjust above noted ingredients for the holiday)
