Kosher Seafood Paella

<< Kosher Seafood Paella is a delectable, colorful recipe to serve family and friends on any occasion. Thanks to Morah Peggy Lanton and 'Rave Reviews', Hebrew Academy, Montreal for this 'most requested' recipe from the Cons family.

Ingredients:

  • 1 each: yellow, green, red pepper - cut into square pieces
  • 2 packages Kosher mock crabsticks
  • 2 packages Kosher mock shrimp
  • 6-8 cloves garlic, minced or 'squished'
  • 1 bunch of parsley, chopped
  • 1 bunch of cilantro, chopped (if you don't like cilantro, use more parsley combined with chopped fresh chives and/or dill)
  • Salt, pepper, paprika - to taste
  • Olive oil
  • 1 small tin tomato paste (add 1-2 tbsp. warm water to paste so that it will liquify slightly)
Saute garlic and peppers until slightly soft, then add 1/3 of the parsley and cilantro. Set aside.

In a second skillet, saute mock shrimp and crabmeat plus remaining herbs. Add salt, pepper, paprika and mix well.

Add a tablespoon or two of warm water to tomato paste so that it will become somewhat liquid. Add it to the fish in the pan and combine until blended.

Add sweet pepper mixture to the fish mixture and stir until blended.

Serve warm over rice or pasta.
