Fruit Smoothies: Two Fabulous Recipes
<<
Fruit Smoothies are popular because they are easy to make, refreshing and healthy. The fruit smoothie recipes below
are merely a guide: there is no right or wrong way to make one. Assemble your favorite fruits, fresh
or frozen, and combine them with about 3 cups of liquid - that's all. Of course, a blender or food
processor will do most of the work. Serve fruit smoothies in an attractive glass for added flair. It is worth
noting these colorful beverages can be served all year round, including Passover.
Ingredients for a Strawberry Vanilla smoothie:

Combine all ingredients in a blender. Process until smooth.
Serve immediately.

Tangy Fruit Smoothie recipe ingredients:
- 1 cup crushed pineapple
- 1 cup sliced mango (fresh or frozen, slightly thawed) cups of chopped mango
- 1 banana, peeled and chopped
- 2 cups orange juice
- 2 tbsp. honey, if desired
- 1 cup vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt
Combine pineapple, mango and banana in blender processing until smooth.
Add juice and honey and process for a second or two. Add ice cream last and
blend for about 30 seconds until smooth and creamy. Pour into glasses and serve.
Be creative and come up with your own original fruit smoothie recipes. If you love berries,
blend raspberries, blueberries and strawberries together (about 2 cups total) with
2 1/2 - 3 cups of liquid: use lowfat milk, yogurt, your favorite juice, ice cubes,
ice cream, frozen yogurt or cottage cheese - the choice is yours. You can flavor the smoothie with
vanilla or almond extracts, syrups, cinnamon or lemon juice. Add flaxseed for extra nutritional value or small amounts
of fibre (bran, rice) according to your preferences.
