<<

With very little effort, you can make Easy Fried Fish and please even the fussiest eaters. Simple ingredients and basic cooking methods make this easy fish recipe very attractive. You may either fry or bake this recipe. Easy Fried Fish can be made with salt and pepper alone, or with your own spicy additions!

Ingredients:

  • fresh fish fillets (sole, tilapia, cod, whatever you like)
  • Instant potato flakes
  • Buttermilk
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Your favorite seasonings (paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne powder, ground ginger...)
  • Lemon or lime wedges, if desired
  • Oil, for frying or to coat baking dish (if baking fillets)

Rinse fish fillets and pat dry with paper towels. Place buttermilk in a bowl or shallow pan; pour potato flakes in another bowl or shallow pan together with seasonings.

Dip fish in buttermilk and make sure that fillet is well coated. Next, roll in potato flakes. Sprinkle each fillet with salt and pepper.

Fry on stove: Heat oil in skillet over medium high. Place fillets in hot oil and cook on each side until golden brown.

Bake in oven: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line baking dish with aluminum foil. Pour 2-3 tbsp. oil over foil and spread it over bottom of baking dish. Place fish fillets in baking dish and bake for 8-10 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Cooking time may vary depending on thickness of fish fillets.
