Cookies and Squares
Cookies and Squares include some of my favorite snack and dessert recipes. Many of these baking recipes are
traditional Jewish holiday favorites - all of these recipes are easy to make and delicious. Pareve recipes
are in italics and as usual, many squares and cookie recipes can be prepared as pareve by substituting pareve margarine for butter. When necessary, use pareve soymilk instead of regular milk and tofutti cream cheese in place
of regular cream cheese.
My favorite recipe for Mandelbread (my aunt's recipe is the best that I ever tasted, not as dry as biscotti), Chocolate Chip Cookies
are moist, full of flavor and contain some oatmeal - they are fabulous. Don't miss the recipe for Fudgy Chocolate Brownies, the popular dairy or pareve dessert.
